In April Brando, Addison and I went to Hawaii for Blake and Amy's wedding. We got there before everyone else so it was like having two vacations in one trip. Traveling to Hawaii was a nightmare and ended up taking us about 16 hours! Thank goodness Addison was so good!

When we got to our hotel they had a bunch of leis hanging right as you pulled up. Addison kept asking if she could have a "flower necklace". She was pretty excited when they came up to her and put it around her neck. This is at 4:30 a.m. after 16 hours of traveling! I don't know how she was still up!

Blake and Amy's wedding turned out so pretty. The weather was perfect! Their ceremony overlooked the ocean, it was such a pretty setting.

The morning of our last day Brando, Addison and I had breakfast in our hotel and then walked around one last time and took a bunch of pictures before we had to pack up and leave.

Conference weekend we spent up at our condo. It was pretty cold so there wasn't much we could do outside. One afternoon we decided to take the girls to feed horses. They were a little nervous at first but after some help they got the hang of it and went through the carrots pretty fast!

This last winter we took Addison snowmobiling a few times and she LOVED it!!! She would yell the whole time to go faster while I would be telling Brando to go slower! We never took pictures when we were all together. Luckily I took a few one day when just Brando and Addison went.

She was still getting used to her helmet. The store was all out of pink helmets and Brando didn't think Addison would care but the first thing she said when she saw it was "I want a pink one"!

Addison LOVES dressing up like a princess. It has become a daily activity. I have turned into the mom who lets her run errands in her princess dress-ups just to avoid a meltdown. Every time we are at my parents Addison goes down to my moms photography studio and picks out a princess dress to wear for the day. She loves my mom's dresses because she has SO many to choose from! My mom took these pictures at the end of February (better late than never)!

Addison absolutely LOVES Bella!!! The first thing she asks when she wakes up is "where's Bella" then will start yelling for her. Whenever she gets tired she grabs her rabby then will go and lay on Bella like she's her pillow. She always has to give her a hug and kiss before she goes to bed. It's the cutest thing ever! We are lucky Bella is so good with Addison and couldn't ask for a better dog! One afternoon my mom and I decided to attempt and take some pictures of them. It didn't last long. These two weren't having it. Luckily my mom was able to get a few cute ones!

Last summer while we were in Texas my mom got a cute idea to start having themed parties for the cousins. The first one she did Marry Poppins and it turned out darling! I'm so sad Addison missed it. For their Valentines party they started out with lunch then got fun bags filled with treats, Valentines barbies and the cutest blankets. After that they decorated picture frames for their rooms. My mom goes to so much work for these parties and they always turn out so cute! Addison always gets so excited to go to parties at Nana's house!

As soon as we were done with Christmas breakfast we drove to Brando's parents cabin in Brian Head to spend the rest of Christmas with his family. It was a fun weekend full of movies, games and lots of snow! Brando took Addison skiing and she LOVED it!!! She kept telling us she wanted her own pink skis. We are in for it once she learns because she has no fear which could be a scary thing!

I can't believe Addison is 2! Where does the time go?! She has such a funny personality and keeps me laughing all day. I love my little sidekick and don't know what I would do without her! At her 2 year appointment this is where she was at:

Weight: 26 pounds 41st percentile

Height: 32.9 inches 33rd percentile

The phrases she used the most when she turned 2 were:

"Oh my gosh" or "oh my goodness"

"I'm freaking out" who knows where she got this one!

"Swiper no swiping"

"I'm going to poop corner" she will actually go hide so no one can see her while she goes to the bathroom. If you walk in she will tell you to go out and even will ask you to shut the door.

Yes I know I should potty train her since she knows when she has to go but she wants nothing to do with it! I have even tried bribes but she just wants to be left alone to do her business. I'm planning on doing it shortly after we get to Texas. Hopefully it happens sooner than later!

With all her parties I don't think Addison really knew when her birthday was. I'm pretty sure she thought it was everyday for a week straight. Even after she would tell us it was her birthday and then ask to open presents. Maybe this year we will stick to one party on her actual birthday!

About 10 minutes after I took this picture Addison thought it would be fun to jump from our couch to the coffee table. Not a good idea. She smacked the corner of the table with the side of her face and bit her lip so hard that she was bleeding everywhere. Luckily after calming her down we finally got the bleeding to stop and she was right back to playing! I'm so glad we didn't have to spend the morning of her birthday at the doctors!

In December we went with some friends to see the elves at gardner village. Addison wasn't quite sure what to think of them. She liked looking but when we would try and get a picture of her standing by them it wasn't happening!

Since Addison's 1st birthday party was crazy with all the people we decided to have two separate parties for her 2nd birthday. For her friends we decided to have a Minnie Mouse party. She really started getting into the whole Minnie and Mickey thing shortly after she turned 1. She loves watching Mickey Mouse clubhouse and will talk to them like they can hear her. It was so cute seeing how excited she would get as her friends starting arriving. It was a little chaotic but I think all the kids had a great time! Addison couldn't stop talking about her Minnie party after it was over so I will count that as a success!

The Happiest Place on Earth

In October we went on a family trip to Disneyland. It was so nice to finally be able to spend more than just a Sunday with Brando after working in Texas all summer. Addison LOVED every minute of Disneyland! I have always loved Disneyland but once you have kids it makes it so much better being able to watch how excited they get about everything they see.

That night we went to Mickey's Trick or Treat party and I am so glad we ended up getting tickets for this. All the kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes and they had stations all over the park where you would trick-or-treat. After going to about 6 stations Addison's halloween bucket was full!

We stood in line for about 30 minutes to meet all the princesses but it was worth every second seeing Addison's face as she met them

We waited in line for over an hour to see Mickey and Minnie. There were a handful of times Brando wanted to leave because it was taking SO long. They had to keep giving Mickey and Minnie breaks where they would leave for about 5 minutes then come back. Of course right before Addison's turn they left and she was so upset. I had to keep telling her they were coming back. She was SO excited once they finally got there. When we first walked up to them she was SO nervous and shy but after a couple of minutes she warmed up and even gave Minnie a kiss goodbye!

On our second day there we went to Ariel's Grotto and had lunch with the princesses. Addison was in heaven! She loved how all the princesses kept stopping at our table to talk to her. She would get so shy when they came up to her but the minute they went to the next table she wanted to get down and go run back over to them. Maybe this year when we go back she won't be as shy!

That night there was a big parade with all the Disney characters. Addison absolutely LOVED it!

This was one of the best family trips we have been on so far and I can't wait to go back again after summer is over!

I am so happy I was able to go to D.C. for Michelle and Winship's wedding. The weekend was full of events, I don't think we ever stopped! When Ashlee and I got there Wednesday night we went out to dinner then Michelle and Winship took us around to tour the sites. It was amazing to see how beautiful they were especially at night!

Michelle, Ashlee and I spent thursday morning/afternoon at Winship's parents getting things set up for the reception. Michelle and MaryBeth made white chocolate cinnamon sugar caramel apples that were AMAZING!!! She used these as the favor/place card for the wedding dinner. Such a cute idea! As soon as we finished MaryBeth had a great dinner with a bunch of Michelle & Winship's family and friends. After dinner the Swad boys tried to teach all of us how to "dougie". I thought we had some of the moves down they on the other hand were laughing and filming us on their phones. I guess we just weren't "hip" enough for them!

It was so nice to get home after being gone all summer. Addison and I came home the end of August while Brando stayed in Texas most of September to finish up work. We had all kinds of appointments and things to catch up on. Addison had her 18 month appointment and here is where she was at:

Summer in Texas...

Since I completely gave up on blogging once I got to Texas I figured better late than never! Last summer we moved to Texas for a few months with Brando's work. It was a very HOT & humid summer! Addison and I had so much fun with all the other wives and kids and are so lucky to have met so many new friends!

The week Addison and I got to Texas a few of the girls decided to go to San Antonio for the weekend. Our first night we went and saw a few of the sites then on boat ride down River Walk.

Saturday morning we woke up and went to breakfast at a good little place called The Guenther House. We had to wait forever but it was definitely worth it! After breakfast (more like lunch) we decided it would be fun to go to Sea World for the rest of the day since we were so close.

Addison LOVED Sea World! It was SO...... hot that day, thank goodness they have a water park there! One of the things she loved the most was petting the dolphins.

This was the BEST waterpark!!! There was a lazy river that went around the entire park then you could veer off and go on rides. You never had to get out of the water! It was perfect for Addison because she was able to go on so many of the rides and LOVED the lazy river especially the little rapids section!

In June my cousin Whitney got married so my family all went to Florida for the wedding. It was a packed week and a half with things going on everyday! Brando wasn't able to go because he was in Texas working but thankfully Addison was really good and I had LOTS of help from all my family.

While we were there we decided to go to the zoo. It was SO.... hot and humid that day! We found out when we got there they had a fun little splash park for the kids to play and cool off. I really am HORRIBLE about updating my blog! Honestly I have been dreading it since I am so far behind so I kept putting it off! Lots has happened in our house the past few months. Here's an update of what we've been up to up until the end of May!

One of my best friends Megan Rogers got married in May. Megan and I are only two days apart and grew up across the street. It was so much fun to be apart of her special day. She looked beautiful and the day was perfect! I am so happy these two finally tied the knot!

Michelle and her fiance flew in from D.C. We had so much fun getting to know him! He is such a great guy! I can't wait to go to their wedding in September!

At the beginning of May Addison had surgery on a bump that was behind her ear. We first noticed it when she was about 6 months. As she got older it was getting bigger. We went to the Doctor a few times and even had a couple opinions and they both said it was a lymph node. Finally the last time we went in our doctor recommended we get it taken out so we didn't have to worry about it anymore. Brando was already in Texas so my dad offered to come with me. I wasn't nervous until we walked into the office. Addison was fine until they put the little hospital bracelet around her ankle then she lost it. I stayed strong but once I changed her into the hospital gown I was fighting back the tears. They ended up giving her something to help calm her down and within ten minutes she was SO much better! We were able to talk to both the doctor and anesthesiologist and they reassured me that everything would go great and that I didn't need to worry. The anesthesiologist then took Addison back to surgery and we had to go back to the waiting room. I was so nervous. I think that was the longest hour of my life. FINALLY the doctor came out and told us everything went perfect and that it was actually a cyst and not a lymph node. As we turned down the hall to get to her recovery room I could hear Addison hysterically crying. It was so sad to see her like that. She was so out of it and had a bunch of IV's in her arm. As soon as they handed her to me she started calming down and finally even fell asleep. We had to sit in recovery for about an hour to make sure she was doing ok then they released us. She has never held on to me so tight. I think she was worried we were going to leave her there. When my dad walked outside to get the car she burst out crying and saying "Bob bye bye, Bob bye bye" {she calls my dad "Bob" not grandpa}. She thought he was leaving her! She was very happy to get in the car and go home! She had a great recovery and was running around the next day! She is such a trooper!

In April I went to Florida and left Addison for the first time! Brando was really excited to have a daddy daughter weekend. One of the things they did was set up a tent in the living room. Addison LOVED it! They attempted to sleep in there but she didn't last and ended up in her crib. She was so sad when I finally made Brando take down her "nigh".

{Easter in St. George}

We went down to St. George to spend Easter weekend with Brando's family. Holidays are so much fun especially now that Addison is getting older. Brando's parents set up a big easter egg hunt in the house and Addison LOVED finding all the eggs!

This helmet was too big and she hated it at first. Brando drove around the driveway and grass and she LOVED it! She kept saying "more" and wasn't very happy when we took her off! She has no fear and I know will love it when I finally let her go on a real ride {that won't be for awhile}!

My mom took these Valentines pictures yesterday and I LOVE how they turned out! Addison is at such a hard age for pictures. With a few treats and some distractions we got her to sit still long enough to get some good ones!

I once again have been the biggest slacker on posting! One of my New Years Resolutions I am trying to work on is updating our blog since I use this as my journal. Looks like I'm already off to a bad start! We had a very busy December and so I had LOTS to update on.

Addison turned 1! Wow where did this year go!? We had her 12 month appointment last month and here is where she was at:

Weight: 19 pounds 17th percentile

Height: 28.7 inches 36th percentile

Head: 53rd percentile

She is still very sassy and knows just what she wants. She LOVES Bella and her favorite thing to do is look at her books while she sits on Bella's bed with her. She is into EVERYTHING and loves to make messes! She hasn't quite picked up on how to put her things away once she is done. Maybe one day! She is such a blessing to us and makes me laugh everyday! I don't know what I would do without her!

she also has started chewing the paint off her crib.... something I'm hoping she grows out of sooner than later!

1st time sledding

Brando and I took Addison sledding this week and she absolutely LOVED every minute of it! After she would get done going down the hill she would sign "more" and say "MO" until we started pulling her back up the hill.

I think Bella enjoyed it as much as Addison did!

New Years Eve...

New Years was SO... much fun this year! We went to the Liddell's and had a full night of food and games ending in an indoor snow fight against the boys!

Christmas Morning

Friend's Christmas Parties....

Megan's friends had a Christmas dinner party and we had such a great time! The dinner was so... good then we had a gingerbread house contest. It was fun to see how creative everyone was. I am so glad I have become such good friends with these girls!

High School Friends....

Megan hosted our friends Christmas party this year and it was a BLAST! We had a great dinner then caught up with everyone. It's always so much fun getting together!

Addison's 1st Birthday...

My aunt Teri gives all the little girls the most beautiful cake knifes when they are born. They use their knife to cut their 1st Birthday cake then they will use the same knife to cut their wedding cake. It has their Birthday engraved on one side, then on the other they will engrave their wedding date. I think this is such a fun and unique idea!

Ashlee made Addison this BEAUTIFUL quilt that matches the bumpers she also made for her crib. I am so lucky to have such an amazing best friend!!!

"Christmas" at Trappers

Since Christmas is always so crazy my family celebrates a couple weeks before so we don't have to rush through it the day of Christmas. This year we went up to our condo and it was such a fun, relaxing trip. The cousins have so much fun together and are all best little friends.

Ella's Fancy Nancy Birthday Party

Ella turned 5 the beginning of November and had a Fancy Nancy party. Natalie did such a great job and didn't miss a detail! It was AMAZING!

After Ella's party my mom took a few pictures of Addison in her studio. I am so glad we got these since Addison was off playing with all the toys during the party!
